The best bits today were 2 Snipe, Little Egret and 9 LBB Gulls on the wader scrape. Elsewhere immature Cormorant, Kingfisher, 1f Teal, 6 Mistle Thrush and Treecreeper. Both broods of Sparrowhawk have fledged successfully and a juv. Buzzard is on the wing.
Butterflies included 6 Gatekeeper, 1 Ringlet, 10 Speckled Wood, 3 Holly Blue, 3 Red Admiral, 1 Small Skipper and 8 Peacock.
2m Banded Demoiselle, 3 Common Darter, 1m Emperor, 1 Migrant Hawker, 1 Southern Hawker and at least 5 Brown Hawker dragonflies were enjoying the warm conditions.
3 Yellow-bellied Sliders were reported today. (K. Bannister/L & A Corrall/DM Smith/CG/D. Standish).
