After three frustrating evenings chasing roosting gulls between the two big lakes with little success, a co-ordinated effort covering the Top Res and Anglers Country Park Lake was managed tonight. Roosting numbers were as follows:-
Lesser Black Backed Gull - 400 TR plus 411 ACP
Yellow-legged Gull - 2 TR plus 9 ACP
Common Gull - 2 ACP
Black-headed Gull - 750 TR plus 4000 ACP
Additionally, a new first winter Med Gull was also in the Anglers CP roost.
Most birds usually end up on the Top Res, but the Anglers birds have not been leaving until virtual darkness in recent nights, but they were still on Anglers at 20.15 hrs tonight.
A Common Sandpiper was also on Anglers at dusk.
