Tha Flash at Edderthorpe was half frozen this morning with many wildfowl sitting out in the open and easier to count;- Shelduck 13, Gadwall 101, Teal 300, Goosander 3, Pink-footed Goose 170 flew north-west, Golden Plover 3, Dunlin 1. (counts- John Clarkson).
A walk up the Little Don Valley where it was minus 4C at dawn, threw up a Common Buzzard and a couple of very close Ravens, but no sign of any hoped for crossbills.
