The Edge 10th Sept

Wombwell Ings mid AM- Present were 1 Little Grebe, 7 Cormorant, 4 Grey Heron, 8 Little Egret, 47 Teal, 11 Mallard, 2 Gadwall, 1 Sparrowhawk, 11 BH Gull, 159 Lapwing, 4 Ringed Plover, 3 Golden Plover, 1 Ruff, 2 Yellow Wagtail, 2 Pied Wagtail, 5 Linnet and 1 singing Chiffchaff.
Broomhill Flash late AM- Noted were 11 Little Grebe, 15 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1a+1y Mute Swan, 17 Canada Geese, 24 Tufted Duck, 19 Teal, 11 Mallard, 5 Gadwall, 2 Shoveler, 2 Sparrowhawk, 1 Buzzard, 1cc Marsh Harrier, 119 Lapwing, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Snipe, 1 Greenshank, 4 Ruff and 7 Yellow Wagtail. A Canada Goose had a metal ring inscribed "British Museum Natural History 527652".
Bolton Ings early PM- Highlight was 5 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk and 1 Kestrel all in the air at the same time. Also present were 8 Little Grebe, 10 Great Crested Grebe, 4 Cormorant, 3 Grey Heron, 4a+1y Mute Swan, 1 Canada Goose, 45 Gadwall, 27 Tufted Duck, 19 Shoveler, 12 Wigeon, 6 Pochard, 3 Mallard, 2 BH Gull, 56 Lapwing, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Grey Wagtail and 1 singing Chiffchaff.
