Carlton Marsh

This morning c20 Pink Feet flew south and a Golden Plover called in the mist. 10 Shoveler were on the wader scrape with 5 Lapwing. Also present were 3 Willow Tit, Kingfisher, Coal Tit, and 2 Chiffchaff. 25 Skylark and 10 Meadow Pipit were on adjacent fields and a Fox was on the prowl. (Jim Plant)
A Greenshank dropped in this afternoon. (Rod Heeley)

A report came in at dusk of two men on the wader scrape, one with a crossbow, the other throwing some sort of food into the water to entice wildfowl. Our informant said they were still there after dark. The incident was reported to the police!
