Carlton Marsh

Bittern flew across the scrape at 10.50hrs and again at 13.10hrs. (Ziggy Golebiewski/Dick Laverack)Then I heard it at 15.40hrs clunking through the reeds to the left of the hide about 15yds distant. It showed briefly then flew to the reedbed opposite, but by 17.45hrs it was back in the reeds near the hide before flying to its favourite roost opposite.
Meanwhile a ringed adult male Kingfisher perched up nearby, 45 Fieldfare flew west and 31 Lapwing flew north. Barn Owl was hunting from 18.15hrs. (Dave Standish)

Also of note 1 Red Admiral and 2 male Migrant Hawkers.
