Blog in?

Working local can have advantages sometimes, and this morning was one of those. Driving towards Goldthorpe from Darfield at just after 11am I noticed an interesting looking raptor low over fields. It was low, and holding its wings 'V shaped' and suggeted perhaps it was a Hen Harrier a species of which there is currently a bit of an influx in the UK.  A quick pull in at the next lay-bye and a brief scan around yielded nothing, and with such brief views there would be no way I could claim it. Fortunately however, John Seeviour, et al were in the 'Shag Hide' viewing over Bolton so I told him to keep an eye out for it. About 30 mins later Seev rang to say a ringtail Hen Harrier had flown around over Bolton before heading off back towards the 'Goldie fields' which is roughly where I first saw it. So, in short it may be 'blogging' around. Little Egret also still on Bolton.
