The top res is about 80% frozen but still holds a drake Smew and a Bittern was looking rather miserable sat up in the reeds wondering what to do next. No sign of the Black-necked Grebe but this is no surprise as it was calling a lot yesterday clearly aware of the freezing conditions coming overnight.
