Wintersett Res

The top res is about 80% frozen but still holds a drake Smew and a Bittern was looking rather miserable sat up in the reeds wondering what to do next. No sign of the Black-necked Grebe but this is no surprise as it was calling a lot yesterday clearly aware of the freezing conditions coming overnight. On the country park the drake American Wigeon and the 'Greenland' White-front are still in residence. Teal are up to 118.
