Wintersett, you were warned!

Don't say I didn't tell you! The gull roost at Old Moor increased by one, with the arrival of a first-winter (or juvenile, depending on your preference) Glaucous Gull. Well actually, it was photographed flying over 'the roost'  at 3.21pm heading towards Featherstone............. Other news included two Little Egrets and the Cetti's Warbler showing well. A pipit that flew over Manvers Way towards Old Moor could well of been a Water Pipit and thorough checking of the Field Pools might just pay off. The Goosander roost reached a new winter peak 97. Still plenty of common birds on Broomhill including at least two Goldeneye. The ice is now breaking up there and likewise at Manvers which has about 70% open water though not much bird wise.
