Bolton Ings late AM/early PM- Wind had really increased in strength by the time I reached the Cormorant Hide. As a result many of the waterbirds were avoiding the wind/waves and sheltering in the juncus grass on the islands or staying in the lee of the near bank. With birds only occasionally venturing out, it meant several recounts of most species. The final numbers were 2 Mute Swan, 4 Canada Geese, 3 Greylag, 18 Tufted Duck, 7 Pochard, 3 Mallard, 3 Gadwall, 2 Wigeon, 1 Teal, 1 Goldeneye, 1 Shoveler, 4 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Little Grebe, 2 Oystercatcher, 299 BH Gull, 2 Herring Gull, 2 LBB Gull, 2 Common Gull, 1 Green Woodpecker, 2 Grey Wagtail and 3 Chiffchaff.
