The Edge 3rd March

Wombwell Ings mid AM- First for me on the Ings, this year,  were 13 Golden Plover and 1 Oystercatcher. Is it 'Spring'? Also present were 91 Canada Geese, 3 Greylag, 2 Shelduck, 78+ Wigeon, 9 Tufted Duck, 6 Teal, 4 Mallard, 4 Gadwall, 8 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 9 Lapwing, 6 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 1 singing Song Thrush, 1 Mistle Thrush, 5 Skylark, 1 Grey Wagtail over and 1 Pied Wagtail.
Broomhill Flash late AM- Noted were 19 Canada Geese, 32+ Wigeon, 12 Mallard, 11 Tufted Duck, 9 Teal, 6 Shoveler, 6 Pochard, 5 Gadwall, 1m+1f Goldeneye, 3 Little Grebe, 4 Cormorant, 25 Coot, 4 Moorhen, 1 Kestrel, 300+ BH Gull and 3 Common Gull.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM- On the open water were 2 Mute Swan, 9 Greylag, 13 Shoveler, 7 Tufted Duck, 7 Teal, 6 Mallard, 2m+2f Goldeneye, 3 Pochard, 2 Grey Heron, 3 Little Grebe, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 39 Coot, 84 BH Gull, 3 Common Gull and 1 Herring Gull. Also present were 1 Greater Spotted Woodpecker,  2 Stonechat and 1 Grey Wagtail.
