Newmillerdam - 27 December 2015

There has been some pretty severe scrub clearance in the woodland to the east of the lake to remove rhododendron. It has left the woodland looking very much like a plantation with no understorey, except the windrows of piled scrub. Be interesting to see what it looks like in the spring.

Lovely calm day, but very, very busy, especially around the lake.

List for the day: robin, blue tit, nuthatch, treecreeper, carrion crow, black-headed gull, mistle thrush, blackbird, magpie, long-tailed tit, woodpigeon, goldcrest, jay, goosander (10), mallard, moorhen, Canada goose, coot, tufted duck, mute swan, greylag goose, little grebe, great crested grebe.
