Wintersett + Gull Roosts 20.12.15

11 degrees with 4/8 cloud and a south westerly breeze.
Wintersett Res:  The redhead Red-breasted Merganser was off the east bank until 11.00hrs when it was flushed by boats.  It relocated to the northern end of Anglers CP.  Cetti's Warbler 1 male north bank. Great Crested Grebe 23 + 9 ACP + 1 CHRes..   Water Rail 2 in the boathouse reedbed.
Anglers CP: Shoveler 3,  Teal 5 and  Siskin 8.
Gull Roosts: Psycho the adult Yellow-legged Gull flew in,  calling loudly - ACP.  The  combined totals from both roosts:- Great Black-backed Gull 417,   Lesser Black-backed Gull  6,  and a crazy number of  3070 Herring Gull  considering how mild it is.  This number is not usually seen until mid winter!   Also a juv Kumliens? type was seen on WRes  but better views are needed to confirm.
