The Edge 10/10/2017

Wombwell Ings - Present were 52 Wigeon, 27 Teal, 7 Shoveler, 7 Gadwall, 4 Mallard, 2 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 197 Lapwing, 149 Golden Plover, 8 Ruff, 2 Snipe, 39 BH Gull, 1 Common Gull, 1 Kestrel, 5 Skylark, 1 Jay, 2 Pied Wagtail, 1 Meadow Pipit, 3 Mistle Thrush, 2 Redwing, 7 Linnet, 2 Redpoll and 5 Reed Bunting,
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2+6y Mute Swan, 30 Shoveler, 30 Teal, 19 Tufted Duck, 15 Mallard, 8 Gadwall, 1 Wigeon, 1 Pintail, 5 Red Legged Partridge, 5 Little Grebe, 4 Cormorant, 1 Little Egret, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 17 Lapwing, 8 Ruff, 3 Snipe, 10 Coot, 7 Moorhen, 73 BH Gull, 1 female Stonechat and a flock of  twenty hirundines ( mainly Swallows ).
Bolton Ings - Highlight was three skeins of Pink Footed Geese (c250,c100 and c150 ) through at 12.05pm. On the open water were 2+6y Mute Swan, c250 Canada Geese, 114 Greylag, 7 Pochard, 6 Mallard, 4 Tufted Duck, 2 Gadwall, 2 female Goosander, 5 Little Grebe, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 104 Coot, 26 BH Gull, 4 LBB Gull, 2 Common Gull and 1 Herring Gull. Also present were 3 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 30+ Lapwing over, 3 Snipe and 3+ Jay.
