New in today Green Sandpiper on the main scrape. (Jim Plant) 300 + Herring Gulls came down to bathe on the recently enlarged wader scrape (Richard Laverack) and a Peregrine flew over Beech Avenue towards the wader scrape at 10.39hrs. (Geoff Miller).
I see from the twitter feed that Malc Clarkson has the result of a fresh dead Lesser Redpoll in his garden on the Birkwood estate, Cudworth on 26th March. Nice one Malc. This species has a happy knack of being recovered or re-trapped so its always good to ring them. I know that Malc has had at least 15 coming to his garden feeder over recent weeks. This one however didn't survive. Z4411173 was ringed as a 1st year at Damhead Farm, Carluke, South Lanarkshire 984 days after ringing, it had flown 284 SSE.
