The Edge 13/03/2018

Wombwell Ings -  Springs on its way when you see your first Sand Martin and several Skylark are singing high in the air. Also present  were 4 Whooper Swan, 4 Mute Swan, 48 Canada Geese, 2 Barnacle Geese, 2 Shelduck, 134 Wigeon, 47 Teal, 22 Mallard, 15 Gadwall, 7 Shoveler, 2 Tufted Duck, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 2 LittleEgret, 7 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 7 Lapwing, 61 BH Gull, 2 Common Gull, c20 Meadow Pipit, 1 Stonechat, 2 Chiffchaff, 1 Yellow Browed Warbler, 6 Goldcrest and 1 Firecrest.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2 Mute Swan, 17 Canada Geese, 6 Greylag, 28 Wigeon, 17 Teal, 13 Mallard, 12 Tufted Duck, 10 Gadwall, 5 Pochard, 2 Shoveler, 2 Goldeneye, 2 Little Grebe, 2 Cormorant,  21 Coot, 1 Buzzard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 15 Lapwing, 109 BH Gull, and 2 Herring Gull.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 24 Tufted Duck, 10 Pochard, 7 Goosander, 6 Mallard, 6 Gadwall, 5 Shoveler, 2 Goldeneye, 3 Little Grebe, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 105 Coot, 134+ BH Gull, 1 Herring Gull and 1 Common Gull. Also present were 16 Canada Geese, 6 Greylag, 10 Cormorant, 1 Buzzard, 1 Kestrel, 1 Song Thrush and 1 Marsh Tit.
