Wintersett + Good and Bad News 06.07.18

18 - 22 degrees with 2/8 cloud and a light north easterly.
Wintersett Res: 2 Redshank were on the boathouse slipway.  A Nuthatch was near the boathouse bench + another was in HPWood.  
Cold Hiendley Res: Mute Swan 35 + 2 WRes.    Gadwall 4 vs young + 5 small young.
Mallard young in the area:  WRes: 10vs.    CHRes: 10 vs + 5 vs + 5 m + 2 large + 3 fledged
Lepidoptera: Large Skipper 1 west bank WRes..
Bad news: A Mink was eating the eggs of a Coot, from a nest on the edge of the algae/weed, CHRes..  This could explain why we have no young Coot or Great Crested Grebe in the area.

 Good News: I found the first Bee Orchid forAnglers CP yesterday.
