Wintersett 22.07.18

16 - 22 degrees with 4/8 cloud and a light westerly breeze.
Anglers CP: A juvenile Peregrine flew over twice.  Yellow-legged Gull 1 adult.  A Common Gull was on the shallows.  Shoveler 1 + 2 WRes..  Pochard 1.  Common Tern 3.  Yellow Wagtail 1 juvenile.  Grey Wagtail 1 juvenile + 3 CHRes spillway.  Snipe 1.  Oystercatcher 1.
At 11.20hrs large gulls started to drop in to bathe:- Herring Gull 75,  Lesser Black-backed Gull 30  and a  juvenile Mediterranean Gull.  At 11.27 hrs an adult, summer plumaged Mediterraean Gull dropped in, bathed briefly, and left south.  The juvenile Mediterranean Gull then flew to the rock wall and showed its yellow DARVIC  2J11.  This bird was ringed as a chick at Old Moor on 21st June 2018 and was still present on 18th July.  It was then seen at Norfolk Bridge, Sheffield on the 19th July 2018 per Andy Deighton

Wintersett Res: Common Sandpiper 6. A Cetti's Warbler was 'alarming' in the ruin area.
