Wintersett + Evening Update 27.07.18

20 - 28 degrees with sun and scattered , then increasing cloud and a southerly breeze.  Thunder, lightning, brief but heavy rain showers on and off  from 09.20 - 09.50hrs. Very hot and humid.
Wintersett Res:  Common Tern 2 + 1 ACP.   A brood of Cetti's young were on the NE bank and another brood of Cetti's young were heard in Botany Hedge. 
Anglers CP Evening: Tufted Duck 43.  Great Crested Grebe 28.  Dunlin 1. Pochard 1. 
Lepidoptera: Purple Hairstreak 1 flying low over WRes..  Holly Blue 1 Botany.
Odonata: Emperor 1 male east bank WRes..
Lunar Eclipse: Unfortunately, cloud cover prevented any sighting of the century's longest (1 hour 43 minutes)  Blood Moon.
