Another dreary day was brightened up a bit by some decent birds. This morning c500 Geese on the top fields comprised of Greylags, but most were Canadas. Also present Green Woodpecker, 2 single Willow Tits on the embankment  at SE3710 & SE 3709) (JP).

This afternoon 7 Shoveler, 28 Teal, 1 Swift south, 1 Hobby north at 15.13hrs, 1f Great Spot Woodpecker, Kingfisher, 1m Cetti's Warbler, 1 Water Rail, 1 Goldcrest, 5 Herring and 4 LBB Gulls.

c10m Migrant Hawker & 1m Southern Hawker & 1 Red Admiral (CG).

One of 4 Midgley seats bought with a grant about 20 years ago were restored by Peter Rawson for us. All 4 have been difficult to use over recent years, as a design fault meant that they sloped to far downwards. Peter, without being asked, mended them cheaply and then stained them. He has probably prolonged the life of them for many more years - a magnificent job, Thank you.
