Cool, light N/Wwind with bright spells. Quite a lot to report today.
First the return of the
Great Norther Diver which swam and dived all around Anglers CP this morning. (No apologies for adding another of Ron's superb photos) At one point it was in the same field of view as the female
Long-tailed Duck. It stayed into the afternoon but was seen to fly off around 14.30 hrs. Will it come back tomorrow?

Wintersett Res had the
Redhead Smew in the NE corner - however, it is elusive, skulking around in the reedbed. The male
Scaup was out towards the south bank today and a Buzzard flew over Cold Hiendley Res.
For the few who had the staying power to remain while it got dark ,a
stupendous gull roost was the just reward. The 3rdW
Yellow-legged Gull visited this morning and was also in the roost from 16.45hrs.

The usual big 1st W
Caspian Gull flew in at 16.07 hrs and at one point was in the same field of view as a 1st W
GLAUCOUS GULL which was picked up by Graham. Finally! A white-winger that gave brilliant views from the hide.

81 Goosanders were also on ACP and a
Bittern roosted in the reedbeds on WRes. at dusk.
Ron also had a fox.
