Bolton Ings - Sunday 13th July
Webs count day today, the highlights being 302 Coot and 116 Gadwall. A Little Egret flew west and 13 Oystercatchers flew in from the Golf Course. On the down side no Grey Herons, Cormorants or birds of prey seen today. Most of the warblers have stopped singing but I did hear Chiffchaff, Sedge Warbler and Reed Warbler and saw a family party of Whitethroats. Full list :- Little Egret 1, Mute Swan 2+8y, 2+4y, 1 and 2 on river, total of 19, Canada Goose 30, Grey Lag Goose 8, Great Crested Grebe 5 adults +2y, Little Grebe 17 adults + 5y, Mallard 12, Teal 1, Wigeon 3, Gadwall 116, Tufted Duck 9+4y, Pochard 12, Coot 265 adults + 37 juvs, total of 302, Moorhen 7, Lapwing 9, Oystercatcher 13, Snipe 1, Black Headed Gull 52 adults + 34 juvs, LBB Gull 12, Common Gull 1, Common Tern 1, Kingfisher 1, Jay 1, Swift 12, Sand Martin 4, Chiffchaff 1, Whitethroat 4, Reed Warbler 3, Sedge Warbler 2.
