The French Connection

Martin - Pete, I re-trapped the French ringed Reed Warbler again last night (14th) in the same ride that I caught it 5 weeks ago. 6708214 a male in breeding condition, wing 66mm still weighing at 12 gramms.

The Wintersett Reed Warbler Y681706 adult female (brood patch returning to normal) wing 61mm weight 11 grams caught on 2/7/14 and again on 14/7/14.

11 Longtailed Tits included 2 adults with their young. One of the adults was a bird I had ringed in my own Cudworth garden (about 2 miles away) on 31/12/2011. 2 years and 195 days from ringing.

In total 28 new birds were ringed of 10 species, which included Chiffchaff 3, Willow Warbler 3, Reed Warbler 4, Bullfinch 3 and Reed Bunting 1.

20 adult Reed Warblers have been trapped so far this year!
