Wintersett 08.07.14

18°C, warm but cloudy this morning with a light north easterly.  Rumbles of thunder and a short downpour mid afternoon.   Not a great deal to report.
Anglers CP:  The Black-headed Gulls on the raft nearest the hide have hatched 1 young.   The usual 1st Summer Little Gull was performing close to the east bank.   A Lesser Whitethroat family party with fledged young were in the hedge on the back path.
5 Mallard broods 1vs + 2vs +  4s/m + 9vs + a female with 6vs and a vs Tufted Duckling.
Flora: A Greater Knapweed on the Pol is the first I've seen in the area.

Greater Knapweed  Centaurea scabiosa          ACP  ASmith
