Edderthorpe, Sunday morning

A cracking adult Little Tern dropped on to the Flash at 08.00 and spent 15 minutes resting or plunge-diving. It then appeared to leave high to the south-east only to reappear over the Flash a couple of minutes later. It sat around for a further 30 minutes before heading off high south-east at 08.45. This appears to be the first record for Edderthorpe, no mention in Birds of Barnsley and I don't remember one since publication. Also this morning;- Common Tern 1, Little Egret 3, Oystercatcher 1, Redshank 2, Common Sandpiper 2, Green Sandpiper 1, Ringed Plover 2, Pochard 2.
A very poor photo, but identifiable at least!! Little Tern, Edderthorpe.
