Cudworth Common

A walk round late afternoon with Les Corrall produced 10 species of butterfly that included 45 Ringlets, 21 Purple Hairstreaks, 5 Gatekeepers, 20 Small Skippers, 10 Meadow Brown, 4 new brood Peacocks, 2 Comma and a Large Skipper.
Aldso of interest a female Common Darter and a female Banded Demoiselle in the woods.  A Coal Tit was roaming with the Longtailed Tits and a Siskin flew over. 3 Kestrels calling from a pylon all appeared to be juveniles. The family of Oystercatchers were calling from the Symphony factory area.

Storrs Mill Bridge to Ardsley Viaduct
A Buzzard, 2 Kingfishers and a Green Woodpecker were seen walking along the River Dearne. 15 species of butterfly included 5 fresh Peacocks, 8 Purple Hairstreaks, 18 Red Admirals, 77 Small Tortoiseshells, 26 Commas and 2 Small Coppers.
