Broomhead Res. Crossbills & gulls....

A cold but sunny day and the area around the feeders was alive with birds;- Common Crossbills were visible all the time with the most I saw being 60, Nuthatch, Siskin, a single Brambling, and loads of Coal tits.
The evening gull roost on the res was excellent;- a juvenile Glaucous Gull came in at 15.50, GBBGull 115, LBBGull 4, and Herring Gull 340 were all present at dusk. As the temperature dropped to minus one centigrade a Woodcock flew over and a couple of Tawny Owls were calling.
