Wintersett Equaliser 11.11.13

A milder start, 7 degrees, with drizzly rain and a light southerly.
Wintersett Res: Steve Denny heard the Cetti's Warbler calling on the west bank clump and then picked up a Bar-tailed Godwit on the boathouse slipway at 07.50hrs, thus adding a new bird to the year list to equal the all time record of 179 species. It stayed until 08.35, when it was flushed off by a Heron.  It flew calling to the shallows at Anglers CP. and eventually left  south at 10.38hrs. An excellent start to the working week for him!
Anglers CP Vis Mig highlights:  12 Dunlin SW at 09.24 + 4 S at 09.54.   Crossbill 9 NE at 12.03hrs.
2290 Starlings were pulsing through in mainly small flocks.   Fieldfare 1565,  Redwing 140,  Wood Pigeon 50 S and Golden Plover 33 S.
ACP:  71 Teal were new in,  and a drake and 2 female Pintail dropped in at 11.14hrs.
Also flying: A Migrant Hawker was seen on the north bank Wintersett Res..
