Carlton Marsh - Breaking News - of a new Dragon

2 Cormorants. Okay no big deal, but at least it was something different to look at. Our resident Buzzard was mobbed by a Sparrowhawk, not surprising really as fledged young are hiding in the trees. Kingfisher was present and a Fox cub walked in front of the hide. Emerald damsels are common now and there are a few Ruddy Darters and Brown Hawkers.
Pete, I caught your Reed Warbler Y681706 again last night before it rained. She is really wrinkled now!

Oxycera can you confirm this beetle as being Common Black Ground Beetle (Pterostichus melanarius) please. I found it on our southern meadow yesterday.

I have just received this photo from Rod (the hawfinch kid) Heeley of a male Hairy Dragonfly photographed today. Its new for Barnsley!

Hi Cliff

I think this is a bit tricky from a photo. You may be right, perhaps Abax parallelopipedus is another possibility.
