Pleased to re-find this rare old-woodland hoverfly Brachypalpus laphriformis, at Gunthwaite,
34 years after its original discovery at this site.
(Correction; this is the superficially similar Criorhina asilica, also a hoverfly predominantly of
ancient broad-leaved woodland, also first recorded about the same time as Brachypalpus.
