Very steady all round. Good viewing with plenty cloud to keep off heat haze. - Seen, was 1 Red Kite regular, Sparrowhawk 1, C Buzzard 2, Kestrel 4. Cuckoo calling in shaw brook area, displaying Snipe 2, flyover Siskin 7, Oystercatcher 3, small flock of 8 Curlews flying around were impressive. Probables due to brief poor views were what was thought to be yesterdays reported Marsh Harrier and a falcon chasing briefly thought to be Merlin. Yesterday at wilthorpe marsh, Sedge Warbler now rare 1, Reed Warbler 6, GS Pecker 1 in usual breeding area, c 300 Woodpigeon down. Sand Martin increase with now 2 small colonies.
