Wintersett 29.04.2022

Wintersett Res:

Black-necked Grebe 7.   Common Tern 9.  Hobby 2. 

Swift  5 + 1 north + 4 ACP.   Swallow 40 north.

Sedge Warbler 8 males.  Reed Warbler 7.   

Lesser Whitethroat 1 male north east bank.   

Mallard, 4 medium young  south west bank.

Anglers CP:

4 Shelduck dropped in at 08.55hrs.  Greylag Goose 19.  

Teal 1 male + 1 female.   Cormorant 2.  A male Garden Warbler was on the Pol.

Cetti's Warbler 1 male south west corner  + 1 male on Golf Course Path.

Walton Hall Golf Course Pond:   

Little Grebe 2.    

Odonata: 

2 Large Red Damselflies were on the Golf course Pond.  First for the year.  

Fungus: 

Melampsora populnea is a rust fungus which causes pale orange-yellow, white edged swellings on Dog's Mercury.  This was found on Haw Park Lane todayphotographed by Pete Smith and confirmed by Francis Hickenbottom.
