Carlton Marsh

A male Ring Ousel was flushed from the footpath near Cudworth's new cemetery at 10.30hrs (JP). This was our 7th record and the first since October 2005.

At the reserve a male Cuckoo sang, 33 Herring Gulls were on the wader scrape and a Goldcrest sang in the car park (L & A Corrall).

This afternoon 12 species of butterfly included 28 Speckled Wood, 3 Holly Blue, 1 Dingy Skipper, 3m Brimstone, 7 Large White and 27m Orange-tip. Also 13 Dark-edged Bee Fly (C. Parkin).
