Carlton Marsh

Two male Cuckoos were singing this morning. Also of note Kingfisher and 5 Swallow north (JP). 

Then came our first Swift, and 40 Herring Gulls were on the wader scrape (L & A Corrall).

Later broods of 7 & 4 very young Canada goslings (K. Bannister).

This evening 6 Blackcap, 5 Willow Warbler, 7 Chiffchaff, 5 Reed Warbler, 5 Song Thrush and a Red -legged Partridge were all singing. 3 pairs of Teal were on the wader scrape (CG)

Littleworth Park - Monk Bretton
11 species of butterfly included 22 Dingy Skipper, 3 Holly Blue, 2f Brimstone and 14 Speckled Wood. 9 Bee Fly were seen (C. Parkin).
