Wombwell Ings mid AM- Present were 3 Grey Heron, 5 Little Egret, 4 Mute Swan, 4 Greylag, 2a+6y Shelduck (young taking first flights), 2 Mallard, 1 Sparrowhawk, 18 Lapwing, 6+ Snipe, 5 Ringed Plover, 2 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Redshank, 1 Avocet, 1 LBB Gull, 2 Grey Partridge, 4 Skylark, 4 Pied Wagtail, 1 Willow Warbler and 1 Kingfisher.
Broomhill Flash late AM-Noted were 10a+5y Little Grebe, 1 Black Necked Grebe, 1 Mute Swan + 3 cygnets, 46 Canada Geese, 4 Greylag, 13a+34y Gadwall, 13a+10y Tufted Duck, 4 Mallard, 3 Snipe and 1 Barn Owl. A Lesser Whitethroat was singing on the top lane Wednesday evening.
TPT- Singing males 4 Whitethroat, 4 Blackcap, 2 Chiffchaff and 1 Willow Warbler. Also seen 3 Jay.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM- On the open water were 6 Little Grebe, 4a+1y Great Crested Grebe, 2 Mute Swan + 8 cygnets, 93 Gadwall, 7 Pochard, 5 Tufted Duck, 3 Mallard, and 74 juv BH Gull.
Also seen were 1 Grey Heron, 1 Cormorant, 21 Canada Geese, 5 Greylag, 4 Kestrel, 1 Hobby(12.20pm), 3 Oystercatcher, 1 LBB Gull, 2 Kingfisher and 1 Grey Wagtail.
Good views were had of 2 Green Woodpeckers feeding next to the entrance road to Old Moor RSPB.
