The Edge 29th April

Wombwell Ings mid AM-Best morning on the ings so far this year with 2 Mute Swan, 2 Canada Geese, 5 Greylag, 1 Pink Footed Goose, 4 Shelduck, 13 Tufted Duck, 11 Gadwall, 10 Mallard, 7 Teal, 2 Wigeon, 1 Shoveler, 2 Red Legged Partridge, 2 Grey Heron,1 Little Egret, 2 Little Grebe, 9 Lapwing, 4 Redshank, 2 Oystercatcher, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Common Sandpiper, 12 BH Gull, 2 LBB Gull, 5+ Skylark, 1 female Wheatear, 4 Pied Wagtail, 3 White Wagtail, 1 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Meadow Pipit, 1 Whinchat, 1 Meadow Pipit ( flight song display) and 2 Linnet.
Broomhill Flash late AM-Noted were 1 Mute Swan, 20 Canada Geese, 6 Greylag, 11 Tufted Duck, 7 Mallard, 6 Gadwall, 5 Little Grebe, 15 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 2 LBB Gull and 7 Sand Martin.
Warbler Way-Singing males- 11 Willow Warbler, 10 Blackcap, 9 Chiffchaff, 8 Whitethroat, 2 Lesser Whitethroat, , 1 Sedge Warble and 1 Willow Tit. Also seen 2 Buzzard and 1 GBB Gull.
Bolton Ings early PM-On the open water were 3 Mute Swan, 8 Greylag, 5 Canada Geese, 20 Tufted Duck, 8 Gadwall, 7Pochard, 3 Mallard, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 3 Little Grebe, 33 Coot, 1 Moorhen and 2 LBB Gull. Also present were 1 Cormorant, 2 Sparrowhawk, 1 Kestrel, 1 Green Woodpecker, 1 Kingfisher and 2 Grey Wagtail.
