Wintersett 17.04.15

9°C with scattered cloud and a cool light north easterly.
Wintersett Res:  A COMMON TERN  was a 1st for the year.  Grasshopper Warbler 1m,  Sedge Warbler 3m,  Whitethroat 1m and Water Rail 2.
The 1st Ringing session of the year produced 15 new birds, including: Grasshopper Warbler,  Sedge Warbler and 3 Chiffchaff.  Interestingly, 2 retrapped Blackcaps and 2 male Willow Warblers had been ringed here as juveniles last year.
Anglers CP: Shoveler 1m,  Teal 2,  Wigeon 1m + 1f,  Snipe 1, Goldeneye 11 + 2 WRes, Snipe 1 and   Common Sandpiper 1
Butterfly: The first SPECKLED WOOD was on the east bank WRes..
