Carlton Marsh

c125 Canada Geese were on the scrape with 5 Shoveler, 16 Lapwing and a Cormorant. A Water rail flew past the hide. 70 Pink Feet flew over and were seen over Cudworth Common at 10.10hrs (Jim Plant/Rod Heeley). A mixed group of c150 birds on the fields were mainly Meadow Pipits. 3 Swallows flew south and 3 Chiffchaffs, 2 Coal Tits and 2 Willow Tits were with a group of Long-tailed Tits.

Butterflies today were Green Veined White 2 mating, Small White, Comma and 4 Speckled Wood.
A Fox was on the prowl again.
