Wintersett + Vis.Mig. + Ringing

A cold start, 6 - 14 degrees with mostly clear sky and a light, but cold westerly breeze.
Anglers CP Vis.Mig: 1250 Pinkfooted Geese in 19 skeins, (9 skeins east and 10 skeins west). 
Going north: A Red Kite flew through at10.30hrs.
Going south west: Common Buzzard 5 high.  Goldfinch 60.  Skylark 44.
Going south: Great Spotted Woodpecker 5.   Swallow 43.  Grey Wagtail 8.  Chaffinch 63.  Siskin 1.  Linnet 78.  House Martin 5.  Meadow Pipit 1010.
Going west: Snipe 23.  Lesser Redpoll 1.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE DAY:  2 adult  COMMON  CRANES were circling high to the north of Anglers CP, then circled  and glided south, from 15.05 - 15.18hrs. 
Anglers CP: Hobby 2 juveniles.  Yellow-legged Gull - Psycho, the adult  was on the rafts + 1 juvenile.  Little Egret 1.   Pintail 17 + 1 Shoveler in one flock dropped in ACP late morning
Winterset Res: 3 male Cetti's Warblers - northbank,  north east bank WRes + north bank CHRes..
Haw Park Wood: Nuthatch 2. 
56 Birds were ringed: Highlights were - 2 Blackcap,  1 Chiffchaff,  the first Lesser Redpoll this autumn,  12 Goldfinch,  3 Linnet,  14 Chaffinch,  3 Reed Bunting and 5 Goldcrest.
Lepidoptera: Small Copper 1 Pol ACP.  Comma 1 ACP.  Speckled Wood 1 WRes.
Odonata: Common Darter 1 Pol ACP.  Migrant Hawker 1 ACP.
