The Edge 24/09/2018

Wombwell Ings - Present were 28 Canada Geese, 54 Teal, 5 Gadwall, 3 Shoveler, 2 Mallard, 2 Kestrel, 1 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron,  63 Lapwing, 15 Golden Plover, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Snipe, 43 BH Gull, 1 Swallow, 1 Song Thrush, 5 Meadow Pipit, 7 Pied Wagtail, 2 Blackcap, 1 singing Chiffchaff, 16 Linnet and 1 Yellowhammer.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2+4y Mute Swan, 21 Canada Geese, 13 Shoveler, 12 Teal, 9 Tufted Duck, 1 Gadwall, 1 Mallard, 10 Little Grebe, 1 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret, 1 Sparrowhawk, 3 Coot, 3 Moorhen, 14 Lapwing, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Greenshank, 11 BH Gull, 3 Swallow and c30 Goldfinch.
Bolton Ings - Highlights were a Great White Egret on the left hand island, a Marsh Harrier hunting over the right island just after 12 noon, a female Stonechat feeding along the hedge in front of the hide and the 15 Black Tailed Godwit that dropped in at 12.20pm. On the open water were 3+2y Mute Swan, 15 Greylag, 1 Canada Goose, 36 Gadwall, 7 Mallard, 6 Tufted Duck, 4 Shoveler, 2 Pochard, 5 Little Grebe, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 236 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 33 BH Gull, 11 LBB Gull, 1 Herring Gull and 1 Common Gull. Also present were 30 Cormorant, 3 Grey Heron, 3 Buzzard, 22 Lapwing and 1 Grey Wagtail.
TPT - With CB radio help we were able to pick up a Spotted Redshank and a Grey Phalarope on Wath Ings.
