The Edge 28/09/2018

Wombwell Ings - Present were 44 Canada Geese, 44 Teal, 15 Shoveler, 2 Mallard, 8 Cormorant over, 110 Lapwing, 78 Golden Plover, 1 Ringed Plover, 1 Little Ringed Plover, 49 BH Gull, 10+ Skylark, 4 Pied Wagtail, 7 Linnet and 2 Yellowhammer. K. Fisher also had a Great White Egret fly over the ings at 8am and 2 Tawny Owl on Cliffe Road very early morning.
Broomhill Flash - Noted were 2+4y Mute Swan, 9 Canada Geese, 28 Shoveler, 23 Teal, 12 Tufted Duck, 6 Little Grebe, 2 Cormorant, 2 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret ( 5 early AM - K. Fisher ), 1 Buzzard, 5 Moorhen, 2 Coot, 10 Lapwing, 5 Snipe, 1 Greenshank, 3 BH Gull and 1 LBB Gull.
Bolton Ings - On the open water were 2+2y Mute Swan, 14 Canada Geese, 1 Greylag, 28 Tufted Duck, 4 Gadwall, 3 Mallard, 3 Shoveler, 2 Pochard, 4 Little Grebe, 2 Great Crested Grebe, 269 Coot, 2 Moorhen, 13 LBB Gull and 3 BH Gull. Also present were 17 Cormorant, 1 Grey Heron, 1 Kestrel, 16 Lapwing, and a female Stonechat.
