Carlton Marsh

It would appear that the Great White Egret roosted overnight, as it was seen from 07.20hrs until late morning on the main scrape on its favourite island. (K. Bannister/J. Plant)

I didn't see it this afternoon until 16.25hrs, when it was feeding on the wader scrape. It flew back towards the main scrape 5 minutes later. Also of note 200 Herring and 6 LBB Gulls and Cuckoo singing. (CG)

Cudworth Common
Ringed Plover pair with 1 young (Symphony) and Redshank. Butterflies included 15 Small Heath, 6 Dingy Skipper, 2 Common Blue and 2 Brown Argus (L. Corrall)

South Kirkby Reclamation
The lake has almost dried up! Insects included 89 Small Heath, 9 Common Blue, 2 Brimstone, Thick-legged Flower Beetle, 2 Yellow Shell and 3 Mother Shipton Moths.
A Poplar Hawk Moth was in my Cudworth garden moth trap last night. (Chris Parkin)

Carlton
A Sandy Carpet and a Muslin Moth in my garden moth trap last night (D.M. Smith)
