The highlights today were Little and Great White Egret, the latter present from at least 17.30hrs and still here at 20.15hrs, (Richard Laverack/Geoff Miller) 2 Black Headed Gulls were copulating on an island in the main scrape and 2 Foxes were abroad. (Keith Bannister)
Cudworth Common
There are now at least 4 singing Reed Warblers on the flashes and 3 singing Skylarks nearby.
Insects included 15 Small Heath, 6 Common Blue, 1 Brimstone male and 1 Large Red Damselfly
Ferrymoor Flash (Sash Pond)
A pair of Great Crested Grebes have bred successfully, the female carrying young on her back. A Kingfisher was also present.
