Carlton Marsh

This morning a male Grey Wagtail, the usual Herring and LBB Gulls with plenty of hirundines moving through. (K. Bannister/J. Plant)
This afternoon a Cuckoo was singing, Great Spotted Woodpecker was calling and 2 Little Ringed Plovers arrived on the wader scrape at 16.25hrs.
A few minutes later the Great White Egret flew over north at 16.33hrs. It alighted on the main scrape and was still there preening on the island at 16.45hrs. I see from John Seevior, it was at Old Moor after leaving here last evening. I wish it would have brought the 3 Spoonbills back with it.
