Wintersett 11.05.20

 A very cold 5 - 10 degrees with 8/8 cloud and a light northerly breeze.
Wintersett Res: Common Tern 30.  3 Grey Heron flew west.  Goldeneye 1 female.
In the area: Swallow 350.  House Martin 400.  Sand Martin 30. 
Anglers CP: Pochard 1m.  Mallard young 4 small + 3 medium/large. Little Ringed Plover 2. A hybrid male Red-crested Pochard X Tufted Duck was at the top end of the lake. It had a rusty crown with a stumpy bump at rear for a crest.  Orange eye. Thin bill. White spur on its flank that goes up onto the back.  (The photograph is of one that has been been living at Pontefract park for years.  It looked like the same bird)
