A Willow Day

A walk around each of  the Ingbirchworth group of reservoirs produced a total of 78+ Willow Warblers and 3 Willow Tits. This gives a total of four (possibly five) birds holding territories around the reservoirs.
Ingbirchworth Reservoir - 1 Greylag Goose, 3 Canada Geese, 24 Mallards, 7 Tufted Ducks, a pair of Goldeneye, 3 Great Crested Grebes, four pairs of Moorhen, 2 Oystercatchers, 4 Black-headed Gulls, 1 Common Gull, 1 Blackcap, 2 Common Whitethroats, 18 Willow Warblers,15 Wheatears, 3 Yellowhammers and 3 Reed Buntings.
Ingbirchworth Fishing Pond - a pair of Canada Geese and 3 drake Mallards.
Royd Moor Reservoir - 1 drake Teal, 4 Mallards, a pair of Tufted Duck, 1 Cormorant, a pair of Great Crested Grebe, 1 Kestrel, five pairs of Moorhen, 1 Oystercatcher, 3 Blackcaps, 35 Willow Warblers, 3 Yellowhammers and 5 Reed Buntings.
Scout Dike Reservoir - 10 Mallards including 1 drake Mallard paired with a Muscovy Duck x Mallard hybrid, 3 Tufted Ducks, 4 Great Crested Grebes, 7 Moorhens, 15 Coots, 2 Blackcaps and 22+ Willow Warblers.
Langsett Reservoir (from the dam wall) - 13+ Canada Geese and 1 Canada Goose x Greylag Goose.
Midhope Reservoir - 4 (a pair + 2 drakes) Teal, 7 Mallards, a pair of Little Grebe and a pair of Moorhen.
Barnside - 5 Greylag Geese and 1 Snipe.
