Wombwell Ings mid AM- Present were 3 Grey Heron, 1 Little Egret(flew east 9.10am), 4 Mute Swan, 18 Canada, Geese, 10 Greylag, 1 Pink Footed Goose, 3 Shelduck, 32 Gadwall, 22 Tufted Duck, 10 Mallard, 6 Teal, 4 Pochard, 4 Wigeon, 2 Shoveler, 6 Redshank, 3 Oystercatcher, 1 Common Sandpiper, 1 Greenshank, 5 Skylark, 1m+1f Wheatear, 3 Linnet, 2 Red Legged Partridge, 2 Song Thrush and 2 Common Whitethroat. Additions from a late afternoon visit were 1 Whinchat ( found by J.Thompson c 11am ), 3 Little Ringed Plover, 1 Little Egret and 3 Linnet.
Bolton Ings late AM/early PM- On the open water were 2 Black Necked Grebe, 5 Little Grebe, 3 Great Crested Grebe, 2 Mute Swan, 48 Tufted Duck, 15 Pochard, 5 Mallard, 4 Gadwall, 2 Shoveler and 400+ BH Gull. Also present were 10 Canada Geese, 8 Greylag, 1 Pink Footed Goose, 2 Buzzard and 1 Oystercatcher. Singing males on Warbler Way included 11 Willow Warbler, 9 Chiffchaff, 9 Blackcap, 3 Common Whitethroat and 1 Song Thrush. A booming Bittern on Old Moor was heard at 2pm.
