WINTERSETT

American Wigeon still with 368 Wigeon on country park. Drake Smew still on top res but no sign of the Black-necked Grebe today. Wildfowl counts include;- Teal 62, Goosander 17, Pintail 1 and Goldeneye 121. A 2nd-winter Iceland Gull flew north-west at 15.55 and looked a likely 'Kumliens' but unfortunatly it chose not to touch-down. A Jack Snipe and 14 Snipe on the country park, 6 Buzzards, and a Coot sitting on eggs in a area that was solid ice just 3 weeks ago. The gull roost attracted 3200 Black-heads, 200 Commons but just 3GBBG, 11 LBBG and 4 Herrings. And finally 2 Bitterns were roosting in the reedbeds at dusk
