Edderthorpe Flash 26th March
5 Avocet This beautiful and graceful wader with it's striking pied plumage and fine up curved bill has taken a shine to Edderthorpe Flash .The RSPB appear to have got the habitat just right
It looks fantastic on Edderthorpe Ings at the moment. I'm trying to convince the RSPB to reduce other water levels a little on the Mere, Wader Scrape and Wombwell Ings. I'm sure if these water areas showed a bit more of a muddy edge they would attract even more breeding and passage wading birds.
