11.03.12 Late news from Wintersett - Bye,bye Bittern

One bittern in the boathouse reed bed climbed up the reeds at 18.30 hours.  It appeared restless and took flight at 18.40. It circled higher and higher, repeatedly calling 'Kau' and briefly being mobbed by 2 Carrion Crows.  It then left high to the east at 18.50 hours, still calling as it disappeared into the distance.
